History

Buddhi Dharma University was founded in 2014. On November 27 2014, the Chairman of the Religious and Social Association of Boen Tek Bio, Tangerang, the Head of the Buddhi High School, Tangerang and the Coordinator of the Preparatory Committee for the Establishment of Buddhi Dharma University (P3UBD) received the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture Number 604 /E/O/2014 regarding the change in the form of higher education institutions, from the Buddhi College to the Buddhi Dharma University. Buddhi Dharma University was inaugurated on January 12 2015 by the Mayor of Tangerang, H. Arief Rachadiono Wismansyah, B.Sc., M.Kes. Buddhi Dharma University is the first Buddhist private university organized by the Boen Tek Bio Religious and Social Association, Tangerang, which is a merger of four private universities, Akademi Sekretari dan Manajemen Industri Buddhi (ASMI), Sekolah Tinggi Manajemen Informatika dan Komputer Buddhi (STMIK), Sekolah Tinggi Bahasa Asing Buddhi (STBA) dan Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi Buddhi (STIE), Tangerang.

The Buddhi Dharma University campus is located in the Tangerang area, a heterogeneous city where religious and cultural diversity is present in the midst of society. The people of Tangerang are the result of Chinese, Betawi, Sundanese and Makassarese cultural influences. The Gambang Kromong orchestra, taken from two percussion instruments, namely xylophone and Kromong, is a combination of gamelan and Chinese musk instruments, such as sukong, tehyan, and kongahyan. The historical value and Tridarma works that have been produced by previous campuses will always give Buddhi Dharma University fighting power, enthusiasm and inspiration to develop into a national campus and at the same time a world campus that will always create the future (Creating the Future) through development. cross-culture academic atmosphere dan global academia.

The four Universities respective Akademi Sekretari dan Manajemen Industri Buddhi (ASMI), Sekolah Tinggi Manajemen Informatika dan Komputer Buddhi (STMIK), Sekolah Tinggi Bahasa Asing Buddhi (STBA) dan Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi Buddhi (STIE), Tangerang have produced works the work of the Tridarma of Higher Education which has contributed greatly to the historical framework of Higher Education in Indonesia. By merging into one higher education institution, Buddhi Dharma University, all the strengths possessed by the four campuses will become a synergy of forces that can produce greater Tridharma works for the improvement of the nation's works in facing the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) through the implementation and development education, research and community service in various scientific clusters by strengthening specificity in the fields of science, technology and appropriate humanities. Through this merger, Buddhi Dharma University is also increasing its strategic role in the administration of higher education which is able to develop science and technology and produce intellectuals, scientists, professionals and humanities who are cultured, creative, innovative, tolerant, have strong character, and dare to uphold the truth for national interests, educating the life of the nation, and advancing science, technology, and art by taking into account and applying the values of the humanities as well as the continuous cultivation and empowerment of the Indonesian nation.

By changing itself, Buddhi Dharma University finds itself in the determination to be able to realize the vision of "participating in educating the life of the nation" as "intellectual actors who glorify virtuous civilizations", both as Colleges and Academies (STIE, STBA, STMIK and ASMI) "Buddhi" since 1995, as well as a "Buddhi Dharma" University since 2014. Starting in 2014, Buddhi Dharma's attention has expanded, namely its involvement in educating prospective "appropriate scientists" as well as educating young people who are interested in learning and deepening the fields of multidisciplinary science; combination and collaboration between values and knowledge (Science, Technology, Engineering, Economics, History, Literature, Language, Culture and Philosophy). In the context of such concern, the pedagogical assistance which was then carried out at the Buddhi Dharma University (UBD) resulted in efforts to assist cadres of aspiring intellectuals and young scientists "doers of benevolent civilization" which today took place in three faculties, namely "Faculty Business (Management Science, Accounting and Business Administration Science), Faculty of Science and Technology (Industrial Physics, Multimedia and Network Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering and Telecommunications) and Faculty of Social and Humanities (English Literature and Communication Studies).

With the belief that the Buddhi Dharma campus is born and grows for things greater than the life of the campus itself, the institution sees changing times, along with its joys and sorrows, as an opportunity for the entire Buddhi Dharma academic community to find creative paths. and innovative so that humanity is further developed and the integrity of creation is maintained responsibly through the development of appropriate Science and Technology in order to improve the quality of Indonesian Human Resources and Humanities as intellectuals who carry out the glorification of virtuous civilizations.

The presence of UBD is the commitment of the Religious and Social Association of Boen Tek Bio, Tangerang as the organizer to present quality higher education institutions at an affordable cost. With experience in managing higher education institutions for almost 2 decades, UBD has established itself as a university that pays attention to the quality of education so that through the right educational process it will produce graduates who have high competence and have noble character.
